An Iraq war veteran holed up in his home with a shotgun sparked a SWAT standoff overnight in Clear Lake.

It started around 9pm Saturday when police say the man was threatening to kill himself inside his home on Lake Scene Trail. He refused to leave and said he had weapons inside the house.

After more than two hours of negotiations, the man surrendered peacefully around 1am Sunday.

No one was hurt and police said the man will undergo a psychological evaluation.

According to officials, he is around 30 years old and had been deployed twice, serving one deployment in Iraq.
