A gas leak in Pasadena prompted officials to close part of Fairmont Parkway for several hours earlier Monday. The roadway has sinced re-opened.

Just after 10am, a construction crew struck a four-inch natural gas line along Fairmont Pkwy. between Space Center and Manordale.

Pasadena Fire Department responded as well as CenterPoint Energy and Harris County Haz Mat.

That stretch of roadway was closed off and all citizens were asked to avoid the area while crews worked to stop the leak.

The line was repaired and the roadway was re-opened around 3pm.
