Home of retired firefighter's mother-in-law goes up in flames

The home of a retired firefighter's mother-in-law after catching fire Monday morning in southeast Houston.

Houston firefighters say the home of the mother-in-law of a retired firefighter caught fire.

It happened around 4am Monday morning on Pershing near Crestmont in southeast Houston.

Investigators say the roof partially collapsed as flames reached the top of the one-story home. Two residents escaped the flames.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
