The truck jack-knifed and caught fire on the northbound lanes of 45 near FM 830 in Conroe late last night. Investigators say the driver was somehow distracted moments before the accident happened.
There was ammunition in the truck. One of the bullets exploded and ricocheted off a fire truck. There was no serious damage. The driver is in the hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities say it will take them all morning to clear the accident and is expected to reopen at noon.
