Thanksgiving parade rolls through downtown Houston

HOUSTON

An hour before the parade started, the streets were already lined with people, most of them bundled up and some looking like they needed an extra layer.

Nonetheless, they were excited about the parade.

The Thanksgiving tradition runs 20 city blocks and includes dozens of parade entries ranging from high school band performances to cheerleaders and gigantic helium-filled balloons.

Santa was the grand finale of the parade, making his first official appearance of the holiday season.
