It happened around 12:15am at an apartment complex on South Drive near South Wilcrest on Houston's southwest side. We're told by Houston police that three people were going there from a Walmart.
They realized they were being followed into the complex by two to three men wearing ski masks and carrying guns. Police say they were confronted by the men and some sort of struggle ensued. That's when one of the men was shot.
"About 12:15am, the complainants were coming home from shopping," said J.A. Rachel with the HPD Robbery Division. "They were followed in by suspects wearing ski masks, had weapons. The complainant was shot one time and taken to the hospital and he's in surgery now."
The victim was shot in the chest, but is expected to survive his injuries.
Police say these suspects knew what they were loooking for when they confronted the victims. They simply asked, 'Where is it?"
This is the time of year when we start seeing these types of home invasions. They happen as people are out shopping for gifts for the holiday season.
There is no description for any of the suspects nor a description of the car they took off in.
