An early morning fire left a southwest Houston family with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The family was awakened about 5am Monday by smoke filling their home on Fuqua near Hiram Clarke. Neighbors came out to help and managed to get the everyone out of the burning home.

Houston firefighters say the home and a vehicle parked in the garage appear to be a total loss. They are still looking into where and what started the fire.
