Fire burns home in northeast Houston

HOUSTON The blaze broke out around 2pm at a home on Letcher St. near Sunbury St. off N. Wayside Dr. When the Houston Fire Department arrived, flames were shooting from the house.

Firefighters fought the fire from the outside, working to get it under control and keep it from spreading. The blaze was extinguished within about 30 minutes.

No one was injured. Officials said the homeowners had left just before the fire began.

HFD believes it was started by an electrical problem of some sort.
