Undersheriff Joe Knight told WBAP Radio that the caregivers called for help Sunday morning. Investigators say the boy was found to have suffered massive blunt force trauma.
No information was immediately released on whether anyone has been charged.
Knight says the death was reported in the Campbell area, about 50 miles northeast of Dallas.
