Man fatally stabbed in Bacliff mobile home

Galveston County Sheriff's detectives are investigating an early morning stabbing that left one man dead. Deputies responded to a reported assault in the 4400 block of 17th Street in Bacliff at about 2:30am. They discovered a man, reported as being in his mid-30's, inside a mobile home, dead apparently from an undetermined number of stab wounds.

According to the sheriff's office, witnesses said the victim and a suspect, believed to be the victim's brother-in-law, were involved in an argument that escalated into a violent confrontation. The suspect left the scene immediately after the stabbing, and deputies are following potential leads of his whereabouts.

The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification of family members. An autopsy is being performed by the Galveston County Medical Examiner.
