Katy teen accused of fondling young boy

KATY, TX David Alexander Vigil, 18, was arrested Thursday by detectives with the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office. Investigators say the mother of the alleged victim learned from a website that Vigil was facing an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge out of Travis County.

That's when she questioned her son about Vigil, say investigators, and the son told her that Vigil had fondled him repeatedly over the course of a year.

Vigil was arrested last month by the Harris County Sheriff's Office on the warrant out of Travis County. He posted bail in Travis County in mid-June.

The Katy victim's mother contacted the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office on June 20, and an investigation began. That investigation led to Vigil's arrest and a charge of indecency with a child.

Vigil is currently in the Ft. Bend County Jail on a $250,000 bond. Investigators are looking into other possible cases involving Vigil. If you have any information related to this or other cases, you're asked to contact the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-4648.

Indecency with a child is a second degree felony and carries a sentence of two to 20 years and/or a $10,000 fine.
