According to investigators, the woman lives at the apartments. They said she was pulling in and was trying to activate the security gate.
Police said she must have been reaching out of her car door with the door opened. Somehow, the car moved forward and she became pinned between the gate poles and her car.
A witness pulled her car back and got her free. That person laid her down and called 911, but then left the scene. Police would like to talk to that witness to verify what happened.
Emergency responders arrived and found the woman. They transported her to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital where she later died.
