Store clerk shot during robbery in E. Houston dies

HOUSTON Investigators say the clerk, Syed Hussain, was carrying a bag of money out of the store on the East Freeway and Lockwood Friday when a gunman demanded the cash. That started a struggle and the clerk was shot, but held on to the money.

He was taken to a hospital, but died early Saturday morning.
