Ten-year-old girl and mom hit by car in southwest Houston

HOUSTON The incident happend around 2:40pm in the 6200 block of Gulfton. According to police, Alemesthey Meles Kasaye, 29, and her daughter Dibora Kasaye, 10, are both hospitalized in critical condition.

Neighbors tell police they saw the couple arguing.

"After I saw that, that's when everything got out of control," a witness, who didn't want to be identified, said.

It got worse from there. They say the husband sped off in this car, then did a U-turn and came back.

"He pointed the car right at the lady and the girl," the witness said.

Investigators believe Tamiru Etana Gillede, 32, purposely ran over his wife and daughter outside their apartment home on Gulfton near Westward.

"He didn't stop. He didn't say, 'Oh let me see what I did to my family,'" the witness said.

Those who saw the two victims being run over could not believe what they had witnessed.

"It's just an image I will never forget soon. My little girls were asking, telling me, 'What happened, What happened?'" the witness said.

Gillede is charged with one count of injury to a child and one count of aggravated assault of a family member. Police say he's not yet denied his involvement and he is being cooperative in the investigation.
