HPD: Fatal stabbing may have been accidental

HOUSTON Officials said the man was with a group of friends, drinking into the early morning hours Saturday. They returned to their hotel room around 4am and the man jumped on his bed, not knowing the knife was there, police said.

The man was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed. Police said the case will go before a grand jury.
