The district says it has to raise prices because of a new federal mandate that takes effect this summer. Other districts, including HISD and Cy-Fair, have also raised lunch prices for the next school year.
Ft. Bend ISD considers raising price of school lunches

Fort Bend ISD is considering raising prices for all grade levels to $2.50. It currently charges elementary students $1.75 and $2 for secondary school lunches. The district is considering an immediate price increase or it may phase in the increases over a three-year period.
