Ft. Bend ISD considers raising price of school lunches

FT. BEND, TX Fort Bend ISD is considering raising prices for all grade levels to $2.50. It currently charges elementary students $1.75 and $2 for secondary school lunches. The district is considering an immediate price increase or it may phase in the increases over a three-year period.

The district says it has to raise prices because of a new federal mandate that takes effect this summer. Other districts, including HISD and Cy-Fair, have also raised lunch prices for the next school year.
