In an effort to save money, the Harris County sheriff's office is slashing visiting hours at its jails. Sheriff Adrian Garcia says he's limiting jail visits to Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Visiting hours on some of those days will be extended.

The sheriff says the move will save the department $1.3 million a year.
