Police searching for alleged shooter after fight

ROSENBERG, TX

Phillip Devale Garner is wanted on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, a second-degree felony with a $100,000 bond, according to a Rosenberg Police Department press release.

Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 3rd street around 12:30pm Sunday after receiving a report of several gunshots being fired in the area. Witnesses told officers that a man, who they identified as Garner, had gotten into a fight with a resident in the area.

Witnesses claim Garner left upset and then returned about 10 minutes later with a shotgun in hand and fire several rounds, police said. He left the scene in an older model white, four-door Buick.

Garner's last known address is in the 4900 block of Greenwood in Rosenberg.

His criminal record includes convictions for burglary and weapon charges. He's also a registered sex offender.
