Free health screening in Houston

HOUSTON Walgreens set up a mobile screening station Sunday outside its store on Long Point in northwest Houston.

Adults were tested for bone density, glucose level, body mass index and other health indicators.

Collectively, the six health screenings are worth more than $100, but are being administered completely free.

The services provide adults with a critical foundation for early disease detection and no appointment is necessary.

Results are instant and participants who get screened get a free one-year AARP membership. Participants under the age of 50 can pass on the free membership to an eligible adult.

There will be another screening at the Walgreens at 4841 Mount Houston Rd. from 10am to 5pm Monday.
