Marathoners aren't the only ones running this weekend. Kids took over downtown for the Texas Children's Hospital fun run. At least 5,000 children, ages 5 to 15, participated in this morning's 14th Annual Fun Run. The non-competitive 3K and 1K events were open to kids of all physical abilities. Proud parents and grandparents cheered the kids on.

"It's a family activity. My son Christopher is running the marathon tomorrow," said Jim Madsen, who was cheering for his granddaughter. "I can't run. I've got an injury, but this has been a family thing we've been doing now for the last five, six years."

The race covered part of Sunday's marathon course, and all kids crossed the official Chevron Houston Marathon finish line.
