The Texas Public Utility Commission has approved a proposed power line route through Kimble and Kerr counties that runs largely along Interstate 10. The vote was unanimous Thursday by the three-member PUC in Austin.

The proposed 345-kilovolt transmission line is meant to handle wind-generated electricity.

The I-10 path proposal was endorsed by nearby Mason and Gillespie counties.
