A 12-year-old Central Texas girl was hospitalized in stable condition after she was stabbed while entering a McDonald's restaurant. College Station police Officer Rhonda Seaton says girl was waiting at the front door of the restaurant across the street from Kyle Field at the Texas A&M University campus when she was attacked Monday night.

Witnesses told police a heavily set white man in his mid-to-late 20s and from 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall had been eating in the restaurant and attacked the girl on his way out, apparently unprovoked. Seaton says he was wearing light denim jeans, a dark, hooded sweater and a black baseball cap with a "P" on it.

Police say the restaurant was the target of an armed robbery hours earlier.
