Former police chief seeks $1.5 million for arrest

FORT WORTH, TX Michael Meissner told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram he's owed compensation from the city of Combine for pursuing the sensational accusations.

Meissner was arrested in Arlington in 2009 on charges that included promotion of child pornography. The charges later were dropped.

A lawsuit filed by Meissner in October alleges that the arrest was due to a vendetta by a reserve police officer then working in Combine.

The city's attorney says Meissner's arrest was supported by probable cause.

Meissner last served as police chief in the Central Texas community of Little River-Academy.
