Both were arrested Tuesday by the FBI in San Antonio, after being named last week in a federal indictment in Portland, Ore. They are charged with conspiring to defraud the government and conspiring to launder money. The San Antonio Express-News reports the two were released on unsecured bonds and face arraignment Jan. 4 in Portland.
Both deny the allegations. Lahiji, who's a urologist, told the Express-News that the indictment places them in certain geographic areas when they were elsewhere.
