In tough economy, Santas are also suffering

ST. PETERSBURG, FL Santas report they have fewer -- if any -- bookings this season, largely because of the still-tanking economy.

People apparently don't want to spend $125 an hour or more for a Santa to visit a holiday party.

Nicholas Trolli, the president of the Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas says many of the members are having a dismal year.

Trolli says many Santas are cutting their hourly rates in half.

Despite the less-than-jolly economic climate, Santas say the joys of the job mostly make up for the tough times.
