Driver dies after slamming into train

HOUSTON It happened last night on Fannin near Holmes in southwest Houston. Police say the crossing arms were down, and the railroad lights and sirens were working. It's unclear why the driver didn't see the train.

Witnesses told police the railroad crossing's emergency signals were on and the train was clearly visible, but the man kept going anyway.

The train wasn't damaged. The conductor didn't even realize the train had been hit until a witness flagged him down.
