Firefighters battle two-alarm apt. blaze

HOUSTON The two-alarm fire began shortly after noon at the El Paraiso complex on Corporate at Bellaire. A total of 16 units were damaged or destroyed by fire or water.

The fire was tapped out just after 1pm. All of the residents got out safely, but some were apparently held between buildings as the blaze raged on.

The fire appeared to have started in a resident's bedroom not sure of cause. HFD arson called to investigate, as they do in multi-alarm fires.

There were no reports of serious injuries.
