Deputy in hospital after head-on collision

HOUSTON Harris County Precinct 1 Chief Deputy Mike Butler says the deputy was on duty at the time of the accident, and works a detail involving evictions. He says the deputy may have been going to or from an eviction on West Little York at Fairbanks when his county car collided with a pickup truck head on.

The deputy was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital via LifeFlight. The deputy is expected to recover.

Butler says there is no word on the condition of the other driver, but it doesn't appear that the driver suffered life-threatening injuries.
