Police: Alcohol factor in fatal crash in east Houston
HOUSTON
The accident happened off Zoe at Corpus Christi around 9:45pm Friday. Two young men were in the pickup truck. Houston police say they were headed to the store and had been drinking.
Police say the driver of a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Zoe at a high rate of speed and driving erratically when he lost control of the vehicle. The passenger door of the Ford then struck a brick and iron fence at the above address, killing the 20-year-old male passenger.
The driver was treated at the scene and arrested on suspicion of DWI. No charges have been filed at this time, but he could face intoxication manslaughter charges.
The investigation is continuing.
