Driver killed in collision with big rig

HOUSTON Just before 7:30am, an 18-wheeler collided with a car on Beaumont Highway at Pineland. The car reportedly crossed the center line after coming around a sharp curve. One person in the car was killed at the scene.

There's no word if the driver of the big rig was injured. The Harris County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

According to our Houston Community Newspaper partner the North Channel Sentinel, the victim was a Sheldon ISD employee. A teenager was reportedly a passenger in the car.
