Crime Stoppers and Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Robbery Division are seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who stole a woman's purse and threatened her 15-year-old son in the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 15955 FM 529. On Sunday, January 2 at around 7:45pm, a woman and her 15-year-old son were loading their purchases into their car in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A white male approached them and asked for directions. As the woman was giving him directions, he grabbed her purse and attempted to run away.

According to Crime Stoppers, the woman's son grabbed his mom's purse and began to struggle with the suspect. The suspect reached in his pocket and threatened to shoot the boy. Fearing the suspect had a gun, the boy let go of the purse. The suspect got into the passenger side of a white older model Ford Expedition that was waiting nearby.

Minutes later the suspect was caught on a surveillance camera at a nearby Chevron using the woman's credit card. The Ford Expedition was also captured on the camera.

The suspect is described as an 18-25 year old white male with a thin build. He was around 5'9" tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a burnt orange and beige visor, a beige jacket, burnt orange t-shirt and blue jeans. He was possibly armed. There is no description of the getaway driver.
