LOS ANGELES, CA
Producer F. Marc Schaffel sued the channel for copyright
infringement on Thursday, claiming Fox News didn't pay him to
broadcast portions of the interview with Debbie Rowe after
Jackson's death in June. Schaffel, who had a falling out with
Jackson and won a court judgment against him, owns the copyright to
the 2003 interview tapes.
Schaffel's lawsuit claims extended portions of the interview
were aired on Geraldo Rivera's July 5 show without permission or
compensation.
A Fox News spokesman says the network doesn't comment on pending
litigation.
The Rowe interview originally aired in 2003 as part of a special
broadcast by the Fox network.
