Kroger employees rolled up their sleeves for a blood drive in honor of a customer shot outside a grocery store. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center set up the drive at the Kroger on Old Spanish Trail near Cambridge in southwest Houston. That's the same store where Dr. Stephanie Wuest was shot last month. Wuest was walking to her car in the parking lot when a robber attacked her.

"We wanted to do our part to do something positive in light of that tragic incident," explained Kroger Consumer Affairs Manager Rebecca King. "A blood drive was very fitting, knowing that Stephanie received quite a bit of blood that day."

Kroger says 100 employees participated in the drive. The public was also invited to give blood.
