Smash and grab robbers hit Verizon store

HOUSTON Police say two men broke the window of a Verizon store on Beechnut at the West 610 Loop. They grabbed as many phones as they could and ran away. It's estimated they got away with $40,000 worth of phones.

Police say this is the latest in a series of cell phone store burglaries in the southwest Houston area.

Just last week, the same Verizon store was broken into for the first time.
