Men beat lawn worker in NE Houston

HOUSTON Jose Garcia was mowing grass off the Eastex Freeway near Bennington Thursday morning, when two men approached and started beating him. METRO employee Brenda Taylor was on the freeway and saw what was happening. She exited the freeway, turned around and started honking her horn to stop the men.

One of the suspects fired a pistol four times into Taylor's truck. She wasn't hurt.

Garcia suffered a gash over his eye. The two suspects got away.
