Houston firefighters say the smoke was coming from the third floor of the complex off Stratford at Mason. They were able to get the flames under control quickly.

The third floor was destroyed by the fire, while the first and second floors sustained water and smoke damage. The person who lived in the unit where the fire started wasn't home at the time.

Two firefighters were treated on the scene for injuries.
