The mayor waited in the jury assembly room in downtown Houston Monday morning. Although he knew it was unlikely he would be selected, White said he would find it interesting to serve. He expressed disappointment that so many people don't show up after being summoned.

"We want to hold people accountable and do so in a way where people in one branch of government aren't the judge and jury," said Mayor White. "People need to show up."

White was sent home after three hours. He had been considered for an indecency with a child case.
