Protesters want to save historic home

People in an historic Houston district are fighting plans to demolish a home and end its status as the only neighborhood with all original structures.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

About 20 people protested Saturday outside the bungalow on the corner of Granberry and White Oak in the Freeland historic district near downtown. Current plans call for two four-story structures to replace the home on the lot.

Some protesters say they're open to a compromise to keep at least part of the property intact.
