Family tied up during home invasion

A family was terrorized Tuesday morning by two armed intruders in Missouri City.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

It happened around 6:45am on Tommy Lane. Police say the homeowner was about to leave for work and was walking towards his vehicle when he was confronted by two armed men.

The man was injured after he was apparently pistol whipped. We don't know the extent of his injuries.

The suspects forced the victim back into the home where his wife and son were tied up. The men then ransacked the home. They took off with cell phones, money, stereo equipment and IDs. They also took off in the homeowner's vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Tacoma with license plate 53WDG8.

The suspects were described as young Hispanic men, ages 25-30 years old. One of the suspects was wearing shorts and had a tattoo on his leg.
