Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Alvin Muha is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after the shooting Sunday.
Killed was his son, also named Michael Alvin Muha. The father's girlfriend, Tasha Miciotto, was wounded during the argument at their home about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh. She is recovering at a hospital.
An affidavit says the father asked his son to get a shotgun from his car during the argument. Muha told police that he loaded the gun with two rounds and that it later discharged and struck his son.
It isn't known whether Muha has an attorney.
