Chemical spill shuts down Hwy. 290

HOUSTON A fire truck driving behind an 18-wheeler noticed the leak and told the truck driver to pull over. Police blocked off all lanes while HazMat crews cleaned up the substance. A few cars managed to pass through on the shoulder, but most of the traffic was diverted on to the service road near Eldridge.

There were no reports of injuries.
