Would-be burglar drills through wall

The woman was sleeping alone at her apartment on West Little York at Vogel Tuesday morning when she heard a banging noise coming from the apartment behind her. She then saw a man crawl through a hole in her wall.

A struggle began, during which the intruder stabbed the woman. The woman managed to get her gun and open fire, scaring him away.

The victim is in the hospital. She was stabbed at least a dozen times.

Her attacker got away. It's unknown if he was hit by the gunfire. Police searched the area but turned up no one.
