HPD officer injured during chase

October 26, 2008 4:51:32 AM PDT
A Houston police officer had to be taken to the hospital to be checked out after he ran into a concrete guard rail during a chase overnight. Investigators say the officer was chasing a suspect who refused to pull over on I-10 near downtown Houston. When the officer entered the Eastex exit ramp, he lost control and hit the guard rail. The suspect got away.

Shortly after that, an 18-wheeler driver was ticketed for clipping the back of that officer's car. The officer was not in the vehicle.
