Lifetime honor for James Earl Jones

LOS ANGELES, CA James Earl Jones will get a lifetime achievement award at the SAG awards in January. Jones also is the voice of Mufasa in "The Lion King," the voice of CNN and has had dozens and dozens of other roles.

SAG's president says Jones is "a vocal presence without peer." He says Jones' "long and quiet devotion to advancing literacy, the arts and humanities on a national and local scale deserves our appreciation."

Jones says he was mute as a child because of a stuttering problem. And, he credits reading with helping him find his voice.
