Around 3pm Friday, a fire broke out at a waterfront home on Crystal Beach. The blaze spread to two other homes. At least two homes were completely destroyed.
Fighting the flames was a difficult challenge, as resources are scarce on Bolivar Peninsula since Hurricane Ike caused massive devastation.
The fire broke out on the first day residents were allowed back onto Bolivar to check on their property. It's especially difficult for homeowners to face the further damage from the blaze, after Hurricane Ike.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
