Sheriff Joe LaRive on Wednesday announced the recovery of the unidentified woman. LaRive says searchers Tuesday afternoon discovered the body, clad only in a bra.
The white female appears to be in her late 40's or early 50's, medium build with brownish hair, with highlights. Her body was in debris near a road, north of the Moody Wildlife Refuge.
LaRive, in a statement, says it appears the cause of death was drowning.
The sheriff says dogs are being used in the continuing search of debris fields from Ike, which hit the Texas coast on Sept. 13.
