Pilot honored for life-saving mission

KINGWOOD, TX Captain Brian Erickson received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor on July 11. Erickson received the medal for a mission on October 16, 2006.

Erickson provided close air support for six German soldiers taking fire from enemy rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, and small-arms. Erickson attacked the enemy troops and protected the Germans until they could be rescued.
