The son of a Harris County sheriff's sergeant shot and killed a man while working as a bouncer at a southeast Houston adult club. Police say the bouncer asked Jose Rogelio Alanis, 38, to leave Sugar's Gentlemen's Club off the Gulf Freeway at Dixie Farm Road after he caused a disturbance.

Alanis then went outside and slashed the tires on four vehicles with a knife before the same bouncer, Travis Bohannon, tried to stop him. The suspect turned the knife on Bohannon.

"He presented a weapon and at that time, another gentleman discharged his weapon at the gentleman," said Arnold Semmellrock with the Houston Police Department.

The suspect died at the hospital. Bohannon was taken in for questioning but no charges are expected to be filed.
