"Between now and the first day of school, everything is going to be on sale at one time or another," said Erin.
At Office Depot, we found plastic folders for a penny and filler paper for 15 cents. Because Office Depot honors competitors' ads, we will price match. That means a 24 count box of crayons will be 22 cents instead of $2.59.
We also pick up markers.
"These are actually $3.79, but since we are price matching we are getting them for 88 cents," Erin told us.
Our savings quickly added up. We paid $8.67 for 10 folders, four packs of markers, two packs of colored pencils, two bottles of glue and two composition books.
Across town, at Wal-Mart, where they also price match, they have great deals on school supplies. There, we bought ten 70-page spiral notebooks at five cents a piece. The limit is 10.
We also picked up a pack of 10pens for 50 cents and two glue sticks for 22 cents.
Our total? $1.05. With prices like these, many parents are stocking up now.
Our total for the day was just under $10. At regular prices, we would have spent $65!
