Settlement likely in K-Mart racing raid

HOUSTON The city council is expected to approve paying more than $731,000 to 93 plaintiffs. They sued the city over the August 2002 raid in west Houston. Police arrested more than 275 people in that K-Mart parking lot as part of a crackdown on street racing.

Prosecutors ended up dropping charges against all the defendants.
